Precision-BTC Network makes a strong showing at the UK group’s annual conference
The Cholangiocarcinoma UK Special Interest Group (CCA-UK) has just celebrated its annual conference and biennial Basic Science meeting—and done so with the invaluable contribution of Precision-BTC Network members and leaders.
In line with the multidisciplinary group’s goals of advancing research and clinical trials, raising awareness, and improving patient pathways, the conference program touched on a broad range of topics from “Understanding Cholangiocarcinoma” to “Vaccines and the Immune Response.” Each of these sessions featuring presentations from and chaired by at least one Action member.
Of particular note, the Neil Blenkinsop Memorial lecture was presented by MC Member and International Relationship Coordinator Jesus Banales. Additionally, in the session on collaboration and data/sample sharing—chaired by Professor Chiara Braconi (Action Vice-Chair) and Pilar Aced Nunez (WG1/2/3/4/6)—Action Chair Rocío Macías shone a light on the rich trove of resources available through the Precision-BTC Network (mobility grants, training schools, meetings, mentorship program, registries, resources in the webpage, collaborative projects, etc).
Other members participating included Luke Boulter (ENS-CCA coordinator), Shahid Khan, John Bridgewater, Kevin Gaston, Tim Kendall, Ed Jarman, Isioma Egbuniwe, Valerie Crolley, Helen Morement, Paul Howard, Stephen Pereira and Euan Brennan.
This event represents a fine example of the Precision-BTC Network’s pan-European focus and strong ties with national organizations like CCA-UK, in addition to offering a great chance to discuss upcoming projects and enjoy time with friends.
