Dr. James Cleary & Dr. Ana Landa Magdalena

Dr. James Cleary is a medical oncologist at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute who specializes in treating gastrointestinal cancers. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and his research focuses on pancreas and biliary tract malignancies.

Dr. Ana Landa Magdalena completed her training as Medical Oncologist at San Sebastian University in 2020 and later completed her PhD on chemoresistance of CCA at BioGipuzcoa Health Research Institute, under the direction of Dr. Jesus Bañales and Dr. Pedro Rodrigues, in February of 2023. She is currently working on pancreatobiliary malignancies and early phase clinical trials at the Medical Oncology Department of the Cancer Center Clinical Universidad de Navarra, under the mentorship of Dr. Mariano Ponz.

Over the course of this program, Dr. Landa & Dr. Cleary had monthly meetings where Dr. Landa shared her ongoing projects, including the writing of the Ampullary Cancer Consensus Statement that she is developing on behalf of Precision-BTC Net WG3. Dr. Cleary’s opinions and advice have been invaluable for this work, as well as for other projects that Dr. Landa plans to undertake in the future.

Dr. Jill Koshiol & Dr. Yuewan Luo

Dr. Jill Koshiol is a Senior Investigator from NIH, focusing on Epidemiological studies of biliary tract cancer etiology and inflammation/immune response in the development of hepatocellular carcinoma.

Dr. Yuewan Luo is a postdoc from University of Copenhagen, focusing on CCA therapeutic target and potential drug exploration via multi-omics and cell biology approaches.

Through this project, Yuewan enhanced her understanding in the CCA field, in scientific collaboration and her research questions and direction. Inspired by her mentor, she adopted a more consistent reading habit to support scientific growth and stay updated. The two also talked about potential cooperation in the future.
